Acciona inaugurated a control center at its corporate offices in San Isidro, Lima, to monitor its electricity transmission projects in Peru in real time. The company said the facility incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) and technology to centralize information on the state of the grid and speed up responses to incidents.
A platform to manage the Peruvian portfolio
The center will support the eight transmission projects awarded to Acciona in the country. Together, they cover more than 1,000 kilometers of high- and very-high-voltage lines and 28 substations. The projects entail investment commitments of around 710 million euros, according to the information published about the opening.
The company said the platform has a scalable architecture designed to progressively incorporate future projects into its portfolio. This capacity describes the system’s planned design; the available sources do not provide operational results that would make it possible to measure its effect on response times or grid reliability.
Scope and context of the inauguration
The new center is part of Acciona’s activities in Peru, where it has operated since 1998 and works in sectors such as infrastructure, transport, water and energy. Peru’s Minister of Energy and Mines, Guillermo Shinno, attended the inauguration.
The company said the center will help strengthen the capacity and reliability of the National Interconnected Electrical System (SEIN). This is an expectation attributed to Acciona, not an impact already substantiated by operational data. For now, the announcement confirms the opening of the facility and its planned role in monitoring the company’s power projects in the country.
