L’Oréal beats expectations in the third quarter and shares rise in Paris

Comparable sales grew 7.7%, to 11.56 billion euros. The advance was broad-based across divisions, although Latin America fell short of expectations due to difficulties in Mexico.

Sales above expectations

L’Oréal recorded 11.56 billion euros in sales during the third quarter of 2026, up 12% year on year. On a comparable basis —which excludes the effects of changes in perimeter and currencies— growth was 7.7%, versus the 5.43% expected by the analyst consensus cited by Bloomberg. The result also beat the sales forecast of 11.24 billion euros.

Chief Executive Officer Nicolas Hieronimus called the quarter exceptional and noted that comparable growth accelerated. He also said the global beauty market had again shown resilience. These are management assessments; the published figures show that the advance extended to the group's four divisions.

Professional Products and Dermatological Beauty lead

Professional Products and Dermatological Beauty led comparable growth, at 13.9% each. L’Oréal Luxe grew 7%, while Consumer Products increased 3.8%.

By region, SAPMENA-SSA —which covers South Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa— led with growth of 19.5%. Europe rose 8.9%; North Asia, 7.8%; and North America, 5.6%.

Latin America was the exception: sales fell 3%, versus the 6% growth expected by analysts. L’Oréal attributed the decline to commercial problems and supply-chain disruptions in Mexico. Therefore, regional performance was not uniform, even though the other areas beat the estimates cited in the coverage.

Share-market reaction and first-nine-month figures

After the results were released, L’Oréal shares rose on the Paris stock exchange. Published reports described different gains depending on the point in the session: one report said shares rose 4%, while another put the increase at 5.64%. In both cases, the move occurred after the company beat sales expectations.

In the first nine months of 2026, the group accumulated 35.33 billion euros in sales, up 7.7% on a reported basis and 6.9% on a comparable basis. E-commerce grew approximately 17%, above the online market, according to the data released. In addition, L’Oréal completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Innovist, an Indian digital-origin personal care company, with the stated objective of accelerating its expansion in India.

The positive share reaction reflects the market's reception of these results, but it does not by itself determine the future behavior of the stock. One report noted that Bankinter maintained its "buy" recommendation and a target price of 420 euros; this is the opinion of that institution, not a guarantee of the share price.
